A true pioneer of digital media, Mike Bebel is the general manager of LiveXLive Media and the president of Slacker Radio. He oversees all aspects of the company’s operations, apart from finance and IR.
Mike joined LiveXLive in April 2017 as EVP Corporate Development and Rights Management. He had a significant role in LiveXLive’s acquisition of Slacker, led the development of new LiveXLive apps, and oversaw the integration of LiveXLive’s festival video streams into the Slacker Radio service. Under Mike’s leadership, Slacker subscriptions rose by more than 31% in the 6 months ending November 2018.
Prior to joining LiveXLive, Mike held key positions at some of digital music’s earliest and most transformative companies. He created and launched the first online music subscription service, Pressplay, and pioneered the concept of a legitimate peer-to-peer content distribution network as the Chief Executive Officer of Mashboxx. In 2003, as Napster’s president and COO, he launched the first legitimate version of the service. Equally accomplished in the mobile space, Mike served as the COO of MixRadio, a mobile-first, ad-supported music streaming service, and as the head of Global Entertainment Initiatives at Nokia, he drove Nokia’s digital product strategies and delivered innovative mobile applications to millions of active users. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions at Universal Studios and Universal Music Group.
