As EVP, Head of Multiplatform Programming for History, Biography, A&E and Lifetime, Paul Cabana leads creative for all non-traditional platforms, including DTC, SVOD and digital. In this entrepreneurial role, Cabana develops new products for these iconic brands.
Prior to running digital, Cabana was a creative executive with the HISTORY channel for ten years, rising from Executive Producer to Head of Programming for both HISTORY and H2. During his tenure as Head of Programming from 2015 to 2017, he was responsible for the development and production of all nonfiction and scripted content, bolstering the channel with premium franchises like the award-winning “The Men Who Built America” and “The World Wars;” scripted mini-series, “Sons of Liberty;” and numerous exclusive documentary event specials such as “Barack Obama: In His Own Words.”
As Head of the H2 network, from 2011 to 2015, Cabana doubled network ratings and quadrupled revenue, making H2 the #1 emerging ad-supported cable network during that time. He helped facilitate the network’s eventual sale and drove the transition of the channel to Viceland. He has been nominated three times for the Emmy® Award for Outstanding Work in Non-Fiction.
Earlier in his career, Cabana was a director for “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations,” along with other science, lifestyle and history series on Discovery, TLC, and PBS. Before that, Cabana spent four years as a Web Producer for Fast Company and The Atlantic Monthly magazines. He has an economics degree from Harvard University and an MBA from NYU.
