Verna Grayce Chao is executive vice president in charge of City National Bank’s Treasury Management Solutions. She oversees a department of more than 200 colleagues, taking responsibility for City National’s commercial deposit products and Datafaction, the bank’s accounting solution. Additionally, Ms. Chao serves on the bank’s Executive Committee.
Ms. Chao previously served as general manager of Datafaction before being promoted to her current role in March 2019. Datafaction is a leading developer of specialized accounting and productivity software.
Ms. Chao has more than two decades of financial services and management experience. Before joining City National’s Datafaction in 2017, she served as the general manager and chief marketing officer of Source Medical Solutions in Los Angeles. Additionally, she was the marketing director for Dell and program director for IBM.
In 2020, Ms. Chao was recognized as one of the most influential women in banking by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
Ms. Chao earned her bachelor’s degree from Boston University and her master’s degree of business administration from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. She lives in Hermosa Beach with her husband, Peter, and children, Honore and Alexander.
