John Landgraf
John Landgraf is the CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions, where he oversees the entertainment and business operations. Landgraf--who has been dubbed the "mayor of TV" by famed TV critic Alan Sepinwall--led FX networks and productions since 2005, before which he was head of entertainment of FX and an executive at NBC, where he oversaw primetime TV shows like The West Wing, Friends, and ER. At FX, Landgraf has steered much of that network's advances in original programming, including shows like Fargo, American Horror Story, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Sons of Anarchy. In 2015, Landgraf caused an industry panic when he told an audience at the Television Critics Association press tour that American TV would reach its peak in 2016 and would see decline thereafter. He later elaborated, acknowledging that the industry will contract rather than collapse. In 2015, FX reported that there were 412 original series across the industry, and Landgraf says that number is bound to shrink as networks reach saturation with their audiences.
