Benjamin Berman is a gaming startup founder and independent game developer. His venture-backed company AppMana makes genAI art and games for the game studios, ad agencies and brands like Niantic, Digitas, Nike, Hyundai, Visa and Mondelez. These technologies came from his research on gaming and genAI at the MIT Media Lab. Prior to AppMana, he developed App Store games published by Scopely, and his other interactive art has appeared in the New York Times and Wired. He has also collaborated with the filmmaker Errol Morris, the Berkman Center and the Mozilla Foundation on video games about retrocomputing, copyrights and recommendation algorithms. He lives in San Francisco with his wife, son and backyard chickens.
