Rex Xu is Director, Design and User Experience at Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI). He joined Universal Electronics in November 2004 as User Interface Designer responsible for interactive control products. In 2010, he became Manager, Industrial Design before becoming Director of Design and User Experience in 2014. Xu is responsible for all aspects of design development from concept to specification.

Previously, Xu worked for Corel Corporate, as UI designer responsible for CorelDraw, Bryce, and KPT. Xu also worked as product designer at OEone, a startup company that launched Internet appliance products, as well as interaction design at Quarry Integrated Communications.

Xu holds undergraduate degree in Industrial Design from Carleton University, Ottawa, and graduate degree in Systems Design Engineering from University of Waterloo.
