Veronica McGregor manages the award-winning news and social media team at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. She launched NASA into social media in 2008 by starting the agency’s earliest accounts on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. She also created NASA’s first live-streamed interactive broadcasts and in-person events designed to build community and bring social media followers behind the scenes to witness mission operations firsthand. In 2015, her team moved into 360 video production as another way to immerse audiences. Now, viewers can explore 360 views from the Mars Curiosity rover, or take a trip on a mission to Jupiter or Saturn. Her campaigns for NASA have won Webby Awards, the SXSW Interactive Award, and Sawhorse Media’s Shorty Award. Prior to joining NASA-JPL, she worked at CNN focusing on technology, space and the environment. She currently tweets as
@NASAJPL,
@AsteroidWatch,
@MarsCuriosity, and
