Position Music is an independent company that works in this new era of the music industry. Founded in 1999 by Tyler Bacon, Position started out as one of the first companies to independently rep catalogs for Film/TV licensing Position and naturally evolved into a full-service music publishing company.
The company has grown over 500% in the last seven years and is having success with Welshly Arms (crossing to Top 40 radio) and The Score, both signed to Universal Republic Records. Position is also known for being one of the leading companies creating and licensing music for movie trailers.
Recent key placements include “Wonder Woman,” “A Wrinkle in Time,” “The Disaster Artist,” and the epic orchestral cover of Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor” for “Tomb Raider.” Prior to starting Position Music, Tyler Bacon did A&R for Pioneer Music Group, a division of Pioneer Electronics (dist. by Atlantic Records).
He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University’s Recording Industry Management program.
